Around 4:10PM Sunday, Benton County Fire District 1 and other area crews responded to a brush fire south of Kennewick.

Authorities have not yet determined what started the fire, it was near Bofer Canyon and Beck Roads. It burned about 250 acres before being brought under control.

No injuries reported and no structures were damaged. Fire danger is high due to dry conditions, and Tuesday afternoon and evening high winds are expected to drive the danger even higher.
