Forget the 26,000 state employees who've received notifications of pending furloughs July 1st. if legislators don't come up with a state budget.  The Lottery would also stop!

According to various reports, if a budget is not signed off on by 12:01am July 1st, all operations of the Washington's Lottery will be put on hold.  Retailers have already received notifications about when sales of tickets will stop.  Thanks to Mr. Lee at the Shopping Spot on 28th in Pasco, Lottery retailers were sent a rather cryptic warning when they filed recent sales reports.

According to the Lottery various tickets will stop selling June 27th, which include Powerball, then Mega Millions, Match 4 and Daily Keno will stop June 30th.

If you really like Lotto and Hit 5, then your last day to buy them will be June 29th.  Granted, we will probably wind up like last year, when the very last day of June a budget deal was reached.  But this news is enough to strike fear into the hearts of loyal Lottery players everywhere.  Seen below is part of the message retailers received recently from the Lottery.  A number of other government operations would be affected as well.
