Dog Wanders Into DUI Crash Scene

Things got more interesting Sunday night while Benton County Deputies were clearing the scene of a DUI crash near  Prosser.

The vehicle in the picture crashed into a ditch alongside intersection of the Old Inland Empire (O.I.E.) Highway and Whan Road. As officials were working to extricate the vehicle, and cite and arrest the driver, this dog showed up.

It was wearing a collar but Deputies would have had to impound the dog due to circumstances. Fortunately a neighbor of the owner recognized it from this picture and the dog is now home. Same cannot be said for the driver as they were popped for DUI and spent the night in jail, although they were not hurt in the crash.

No word if the dog is a material witness to the actual crash.
