DOH Says All 8 COVID Regions Remain in Phase 1 Through Feb. 1
In an announcement that not many people found surprising, the DOH released this information Friday:
"Today, the Washington State Department of Health (DOH) announced that based on Governor Jay Inslee’s Roadmap to Recovery phased reopening plan, all eight (8) regions in Washington will remain in Phase 1 until at least Monday, February 1, 2021."
Gov. Islee's Healthy Washington Roadmap to Recovery plan, a rehashed version of his failed Safe Start Plan, appears to be prepared to hold all 8 regions in the state in Phase one for some time.
The following criteria are reportedly used to determine who goes up:
- Trend in 14-day rate of new COVID-19 cases per 100k population
- Trend in 14-day rate of new COVID-19 hospital admissions per 100k population
- Average 7-day percent occupancy of ICU staffed beds
- 7-day percent positive of COVID-19 tests
Earlier this week it was announced COVID mass vaccination sites will supposedly go up and become operational next week, starting Monday, but vaccinations are not part of the four tiered metrics just mentioned.
This will not come as good news to thousands of struggling businesses.
