This is the family-friendly chance of a lifetime to see some classic World War II aircraft, and help preserve history at the same time.  The Warbird-Fly-In is coming to Bergstrom Aircraft at the Pasco Airport June 13th.

The event is being staged to raise funds for the museum that's restoring the old World War II air traffic control tower at the facility.  You may not know during the war, the Pasco Naval Air Station trained hundreds of pilots who then went to the Pacific and flew missions off the aircraft carriers in the war.  Thousands of World War II  planes flew over the Columbia Basin, and dropped practice bombs all over White Bluffs outside of Pasco.   The now-closed Vista Field in Kennewick was in fact an overflow strip for these Navy pilots. That's how many pilots headed to the Pacific War were trained here.

The Naval Air Station Control Tower is considered a National Historic Monument, and is worthy of restoration.

Now, June 13th, Bergstrom is staging this day-long event that starts with a breakfast, continues with classic historic aircraft displays, and also features live music and a DJ, beer and wine garden, food and kids activities.  A variety of different tickets are available with ALL proceeds going to this non-profit historic restoration.

We've been to several of the classic aircraft shows put on at Bergstrom, and they are truly incredible. A sense of history, timeless classics, and fun for the whole family!

Don't miss it, the Warbird Fly-In and Bomber Boogie, June 13th, Saturday, at Bergstrom Aircraft by the Pasco Airport.
