FormerTr-iCity Americans player Mitch Fadden died earlier this week at age 29. Family members and past team mates found out on Monday morning that he had passed away in his sleep that night. He was known as very dangerous scorer on the ice. In 40 career games Fadden scored 136 goals with 182 assists and a plus-57 rating according to news reports. In 54 games with Tri-City, he scored an amazing 71 points in 2008-09.

He had been drafted by Tampa Bay in 2007.

Fadden's hockey career ended after blood clot problems kept him from playing in the NHL according to news reports. The NHL team that drafted him, The Tampa Bay Lightning, had to cancel his 3 year contract. No other details about his death were released.
