Fake Kennewick Police Officer Rewarded With Mental Evaluation

Kennewick police quickly realized Wednesday a man posing a police officer was having a 'mental episode.'

The 30-year-old man, who's identity was not released, was contacted in the 7300 block of West Bonnie Avenue. Witness told police he said he was with law enforcement and reportedly had a gun.

Officials didn't speculate, but said he was 'trying to enforce the law.'

Kennewick officers said it was apparent he was having a mental episode, and he was taken to an area hospital for an evaluation. No was injured in the incident.
