Apparently it's gotten the attention of the Feds.

The Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms (ATF) as well as a national sport shooting group are offering a large reward for information leading to the apprehension of gun theft suspects. The reward was announced Tuesday June 22.

June 6, at about 12:35 AM, a suspect, or suspects, broke into the Ace Hardware in Sunnyside at 615 Yakima Valley Highway. They stole four pistols and $25K in cash.

Authorities didn't say what type of handguns were taken, but now the ATF is offering a $2,000 reward for information. The National Shooting Sports Foundation is matching that for a total of $4K.

Officials have not said if they have any suspects, nor have they indicated if there's any surveillance images or video. According to a release from the ATF, which read in part:

“We believe these firearms are most likely still there in the area, and are a threat to the safety of the community until they are recovered, and the perpetrators are taken into custody,” explained Jonathan T. McPherson, ATF Seattle Field Division Special Agent in Charge. “We ask if that you know who took part in this brazen burglary, or know where any of the firearms are, you call ATF or your local law enforcement agency. You can also submit a tip online or via e-mail.”

Anyone who may have information about this incident, you're urged to utilize the following information to report leads (from the ATF):

"Contact ATF at 1-888-ATF-TIPS (888-283-8477), email ATFTips@atf .gov, or contact ATF through its website at www.atf .gov/contact/atftips."
