It's a significant departure from what we've seen over the last five years.

Friday, January 23rd, the Americans will celebrate the atomic history of the Mid-Columbia with Nuclear Night as they take on the Seattle Thunderbirds at the Toyota Center, puck drop at 7:05pm.

The Americans are one of the league leaders in the WHL in putting together innovative promotions,  the Nuclear Night game, along with Pink Ice Night,  has become one of the most popular games.

In past years, we saw blue and black jerseys,  then some very cool variations of green, neon green-yellow, combined with black and other colors.  Last season the Am's went with a variation of the old triangle three-star retro jerseys won in the first few seasons of the team. It featured green and black, and three atomic symbols instead of the three starts on the old black and gold jerseys.  One star or symbol for Richland, Pasco and Kennewick.

This year, the red white and blue is combined with an outline of Hanford, and utilizes the famous atom design that was perched high above the Uptown Theater in Richland for many years.
