Our friends at the TCAJOB (Tri City Area Journal of Business) tipped us off on this one.

The TCAJOB is reporting the renovation many have seen going on at the former Cable Bridge Casino will transform it into a Mexican grocery.

After being purchased for a price of $1.2 million in August, a former nuclear industry executive and cyber security expert named Jared Walther is seeking to bring a service not found in East or Downtown Kennewick.

Walther operates a fairly new real estate investment firm, Walther CRE LLC, and he's purchased the casino (and former strip club). He's also purchased the Bateman Building, which is the home of the Sportspage Bar and Grill.

With that purchase, he's hoping to assist the 23-unit sober shelter which helps people who are in recovery, homeless, or disabled. His investment will reportedly help them continue that service.

Walther, who told the TCAJOB his is a faith-led investment and real estate business, is excited about the potential and current new growth and renovations in the downtown area, and wants to add to it.

The Cable Bridge Casino, once a fairly popular venue, closed it's doors, then started an ill-fated fun as the City Stars Gentlemen's Club. It had opened in December 2017, soon became a 'well-known' location for law enforcement 'visits.' Then when COVID hit, the business closed its doors for good in July 2020. It had been closed since March 31st when all such establishments were shuttered due to lockdowns.

Previously, the Cable Bridge Casino had been there for five years but shut down after lengthy financial issues.

Now, it will be revisioned as a Mexican grocery. To find out more about this downtown expansion, click here for news from the TCAJOB.
