It's a homecoming for former Secretary of Defense Jim "Mad Dog" Mattis as he's accepted a new posting right here in the Tri-Cities.

The retired General and Richland native has returned to the Tri-Cities Food Bank Board, a position he vacated while with the Trump Administration.

Mattis also returned to his previous position as the Davies Family Distinguished Fellow at the Hoover Institution at Stanford University.

Mattis had previously served on the Tri-Cities Food Bank Board before being named to the Trump Administration as Secretary Of Defense in 2016.

The food bank also announced a new director in VJ Meadows.

The food bank services Richland, Kennewick, Pasco, West Richland and Finley..
