Jair Ealy-Thomas was a leader on some of the more successful Southridge Suns football teams. Now he's going to be a leader in the community.

The 2016 Grad will be as sworn in Monday as one of three new members of the Kennewick Police Department's new Cadet Officers. They are the first to participate in this new program. The ceremony will take place at the Kennewick City Council Chambers Monday morning at 10:30am.

Ealy-Thomas, along with Sebastian Castilleja, Keegan Wolf,  and Fernando Ramos, will work in a variety of duties and assignments in the department. The program, designed for people  18-22, teaches them about police work, various missions of police, and prepares them for future academy and careers in the field.

They will be working up to 20 hours a week while enrolled in college law enforcement programs. Congrats future police officers!
