Monday afternoon during his press event, Gov. Inslee said he has signed a proclamation concerning travel into Washington state, from oveseas countries that are reporting 'the circulation' of a new variety of the Coronavirus, including the United Kingdom and South Africa.

It would apply to travelers who have been in those regions who travel to WA state, and would require a 14 day qurarantine. Would not apply to flight crews, but would also apply to persons who have been in those areas who came here in the last few days.

Inslee said as more countries report activity with this 'new' strain of COVID, they would be added to the list. He said this quarantine is "in response" to a new phrase of mutated strain.

Inslee said it's a cautionary reminder that we are not out of the woods yet.  He claims United Kingdom reports these newer strains appear to cause it to spread faster, but there is no proof that it is any deadlier than the current virus.

He went on to talk about the second COVID vaccines. He also reiterated his demands for masks, limited travel, no gatherings etc.

He did acknowledge the latest "data" does not show a post Thanksgiving spike.

He also said it was "OK for Santa to come down the chimney" for Christmas, but said we still need to avoid holiday gatherings.
