Excessive speed was the culprit, say Benton County Deputies, in a one car crash that injured a passenger Saturday night.

Deputies were called to the intersection of 3rd and Yew streets around 11:30PM, about a mile southeast of the Cable Bridge in Kennewick, where a black sedan had failed to make the corner, and slammed into the concrete jersey barriers.

Of the five juvenile teens on board, one was taken to an area hospital with minor injuries. No word from Deputies, but it's presumed there will be charges pending for the driver. No word if the occupants were wearing seatbelts either.
