An Adult Foster Home in Hermiston has been shut down for the time being by Oregon officials after allegations surfaced over one of the people living there suffering a broken leg.

Christy's Loving Care, located on North Division Street, has had its license pulled by the state. Adult foster homes offer home-style living care for seniors and others who require some assistance, but NOT long-term care or constant nursing supervision.

There were five people living there, but they have been moved to other facilities. The home's license was pulled May 15 and officials say the owner has not appealed the suspension of the license. It is not known if the owner will be allowed to reapply.

The investigation began in March when it was learned a resident broke their leg in an incident March 14. The information has been forwarded to the Umatilla County District Attorney for review; no word if any charges will result. No details about what happened that caused the break have been released.
