Illegal Dumping A Growing Issue North of Pasco-Basin City

For the near future, more Franklin County Sheriff's Department patrols are going to have to be utilized for north Franklin County, west of Mesa, due to illegal dumping.

These photos are from a location near West Klamath and Glade Road North. Other locations include south of Basin City and west of Mesa.

This land in question is leased, but Deputies say apparently some people think it's open for use as a landfill.

Garbage that's the equivalent to a cubic yard (3x3x3 feet) is a Gross Misdemeanor and if you're caught, not exactly cheap. If you're busted, it's also likely you're going to be on the hook for the cleanup and disposal.

Yes, we're pretty sure officials have poked around to see if they can find any envelopes or other items with people's names/addresses on them.
