Kennewick Police say the driver not only took out a fire hydrant but also heavily damaged their vehicle.

 The driver couldn't avoid the hydrant

Around 7 AM Wednesday morning, Kennewick Police responded to a location on the Bob Olson Parkway, and found this SUV sitting in a gravel runoff ditch.

Police did not say what led up to the collision, but apparently, the driver ran over the hydrant, and then traveled down into the rock.

Kennewick Fire Units were also called when smoke was seen billowing from underneath the vehicle. It sustained damage from the collision.

  Driver arrested for impairment

The driver, a 27-year-old female, was arrested for DUI after showing signs of drug impairment.
