A group called For The Kids Washington are organizing statewide parent-student mask mandate protests, which will be held simultaneously in some 50-plus districts across the state.

They are producing digital flyers for any parents who have indicated they're participating. The rallies stretch from Spokane to Sedro Wooley, from Vancouver to Kennewick. The rallies will be held Wednesday August 18th. For each district who has parents who respond to the Facebook thread with a time and venue for a rally, the organizers will produce a digital flyer.

So far the Kennewick rally on August 18th is slated to be held at the KSD Admin building, located at 1000 W. 4th Ave. starting at 5:30PM.  One is also planned for Richland, from 1-2 PM at 6972 Kenne Road West Richland, which is the Richland School District Admin Building.

The rallies vary in time, but organizers are planning for them all to take place on the same day. Their purpose is to pressure state officials and administrators to change the K-12 mandatory mask mandate put in place by Gov. Inslee and state officials recently for the 2021-22 school year.

The same day, the group also plans to rally outside the Benton Franklin Health District building at 7102 West Okanogan Place from 1-3PM to call for vaccine choice instead of mandates.

So far, from what we have seen the school district list is growing daily. We did see Pasco on there, but have not yet seen the flyer showing where the Unmask rally would be taking place.

We will update this story as it continues to develop.
