Kennewick Fatal Shooting a “Targeted Gang Incident” Say Cops
An update on the fatal shooting in Kennewick from Thursday night.
Identity of deceased man, details of the incident released
Kennewick Police now say the fatal shooting of a man at Clearwater and Kellogg was gang-related.
Thursday evening around 9:38 PM Police responded to a call about shots being fired at the intersection, they also said it was following a collision. However, no specifics were released about that statement. Upon arrival they found a man lying in the road, he was later pronounced dead at the scene.
New information was released Friday
Police now say the shooting was a targeted gang-related incident. At least two suspects exchanged gunfire, killing 30-year-old Jordan Patrick Taylor. It is not known if he was one of the two persons who were firing the weapons. Another individual sustained injuries, his identity was not released. His injuries were not considered life-threatening after he was taken to an area hospital.
Arrest made in connection with the incident
Kennewick Police went on to say, via Detective Sergeant Jose Santoy:
"24 year old Triston Broome was taken into custody for his role in the incident. He was booked into the Benton County Jail for the alleged crime of Assault in the 2nd Degree with a deadly weapon. This is still an active investigation."
