Kennewick Man Being Held in Connection with Possible Child Abuse Incident

A 27-month-old girl is recovering from injuries believed to be inflicted in a case of child abuse.

Late Saturday, Kennewick police were alerted to the abuse by a report from a medical provider.   Shortly before 9am Saturday,  Brenda Darvin brought the little girl to the Kadlec Clinic on West 19th. in Kennewick for treatment of what turned out to be two bone fractures.  Medical workers are the clinic found bruises on the child's face and body.

The injuries were, according to police, consistent with possible abuse.  Darvin's boyfriend, Tory Berg, was booked into the Benton County jail on a 72-hour investigative hold for Assault on a Child in the first degree.

The investigation continues.
