The incident occurred on Garfield Street between 16th and 19th Avenues Tuesday.

Sgt. Ken Lattin reports an 11-year-old girl was walking to Park Middle School that morning when a man approached her and touched her chest and bottom.  The man told the girl he would kill her and her family if she told anyone.

The girl, who was not injured in the incident, told two friends, and one of them immediately notified Park Middle School staff who then called police.

Authorities say the suspect is described as possibly Hispanic with a dark complexion, with dark curly hair and a goatee.  He was wearing a plain gray sweatshirt and dark pants.  The man left the scene heading South on Garfield.  Map shows general area of Garfield where incident occurred.

Anyone with a similar experience or who might have seen anything that morning is urged to contact Kennewick police immediately via Tri-Cities Crime stoppers at (509)-586-TIPS.
