Kennewick Teachers Avert Any Chance of Strike, Reach Contract
Perhaps learning from some of the issues seen in Pasco over the last year, Kennewick teachers have reached a new contract with the District.
Superintendent Dave Bond said the vote to ratify a new three-year deal by the Kennewick Education Association will be voted on and approved by the school board this week.
Part of the contract includes increases in TRI (time, responsibility, incentive) pay, class size limits and overtime pay. It also includes other incentives to ensure Kennewick is on par with other similarly sized districts, and meets the needs and requests of the union.
Both sides were pleased with the contract, and no issues were reported during negotiation process.
