Benton County Sheriff's and Kennewick Police were able to chase down and apprehend a suspect after he allegedly waved a gun at one or more people during an incident near Finley.

Shortly before midnight Sunday, Sheriff's were called to an area near SR 397 in Finley for a report of a man waving a firearm. While police didn't locate the alleged victim and they did not file a report, they did get enough information to locate the suspect.

40-year-old Christopher Best was apprehended after what Sheriff's called a "high risk" stop. He indeed did have a gun matching the one reported by witnesses, and Best was arrested for carrying a loaded weapon in a vehicle and possession of a controlled substance. He's now in the Benton County Jail. Authorities continue to look for the victim and/or reporting party.
