If only they'd waited until after Election Day, maybe it would have been legal!

Grant County's drug task force officers broke up a sophisticated marijuana operation in Moses Lake resulting in over 400 lbs. of the drug being confiscated. KREM TV Spokane reports a month-long investigation resulted in the arrest of 18-year-old Carlos Ali Cera and 20-year-old Juan Carlos Cortez Barajas.

They were pulled over in a car seen leaving their home in the 14800 block of North Third Street. When officers smelled marijuana they searched the vehicle and found a large amount of the drug (a quarter-ton) packaged and ready for sale. After searching the home and surrounding grounds they also found an indoor growing operation and two sheds used for drying the leaves.

Authorities also seized over $3,000 cash and vehicles believed to have been purchased with profits from the drug sales. Police say the two men were growing the drugs under the guise of it being medical marijuana. They are in the Grant County Jail facing multiple drug charges.
