Mystery Still Surrounds Columbia Park Fatal Truck Fire

Kennewick police still have not released the name of the victim found inside a burning truck that was discovered last Friday in Columbia Park.

In the later afternoon, reports came into 911 about a truck parked not far from the fishing pond, and it was smoking and apparently on fire. Authorities found a dead body inside. The gender and identity have not been released, some reports indicate dental records will be used to identify the person.

Authorities have said, however, they don't initially suspect foul play in the incident. According to our news partner KNDU-TV, the Kennewick Police Criminal Investigations unit is working the case.
