Baseball in the fall? Why not?

Kennewick National Youth Baseball is kicking off a new Fall Ball Baseball league, that will play games on Sundays, from September 9 through October 14.  Fall Ball is nothing new to the Tri-Cities, but this league will differ in that teams will only play one game each weekend. A little less demanding than some other similar leagues that compete with other fall sports.

It's open to any team in the Mid-Columbia who wishes to register as a group, as well as individual registration for players who are willing to be 'assigned' to a team. Registration is going on through August 13th.

The two divisions are patterned after traditional Cal Ripken-Babe Ruth Rules (the most widely found youth baseball leagues in the U.S.), with a Major 60 (60-foot long base paths) and Major 70 (70-foot base paths) for youth ages 8 through 12.

Games will be played at the KN Fields on 4th Ave. in Kennewick on Sundays, each team will play one game each weekend, for a total of 6.

The cost is $50 per player, plus $15 for a jersey, team registrations (12-14 players) are $500. Players-coaches who register as an existing team can provide their own uniforms if they wish.
