Oregon Man Steals Sheriff’s Car While in Handcuffs! (Then Rolls It)
An Oregon man has been arrested after his flight for freedom in a stolen Sheriff's car was brief.
KEPR-TV updates that 23-year-old Christopher Alvin Phillips was apparently in custody for an unknown reason around 10:30am Thursday when he was able to steal the car belonging to a deputy and drive away.
Phillips was last seen after crashing and rolling the car near East Punkin Center and Canal Roads.
After an investigation and search, Phillips was located and arrested around 1:30pm. near Short Stop by Hermiston. Authorities say he was in handcuffs when he stole the car. He's now facing additional charges in the Umatilla County Jail.
