Ikea, the Swedish retail goods manufacturer, is recalling tens of thousands of one of their popular beach chairs due to breaking and finger amputation hazards.

The chair in question is the Mysingo folding beach chair pictured in this article. The company says there have been a number of incidents in which the seat can collapse, creating a fall or "fingertip amputation" hazard.  Yikes!

The popular chairs area sold in many retailers, if you have one or suspect you've purchased one, here's a link to the website so you can check the model number and obtain refund information.

This recall, said People Magazine, came about seven months after the 2016 Malm dresser and chest recall, in which the items were prone to tipping over. Six young children were killed by falling Malm items that tipped over on them, crushing them. Nearly 29 million of those units were recalled worldwide.
