Pasco Church Holds ‘Drive-in’ Parking Lot Service
Senor Pastor John Paisly told KEPR-TV he's "never seen anything like this," but says the church's mission is to continue to serve their congregation. Riverview Baptist in Pasco is one of the largest churches in our area, and they had a drive-in service on Sunday.
With Governor Inslee 'allowing' churches to conduct parking lot services using PA systems or, like Riveriew, their radio station, hundreds of cars packed their parking lot in northwest Pasco.
Paisley told the station he was in no hurry to get back inside, and places the safety of his congregation at the top of the list, along with their ministry.
Gov. Inslee has come under intense scrutiny and opposition for his Stay At Home "essential-non essential" business and group opens and closures. No word on when churches will be 'allowed' to resume regular services. Inslee has been heavily criticized for not allowing churches, and some other groups, until now, to practice these "drive in" or otherwise social distancing policies.
