Pasco Thieves Go For Joyride in Stolen Honda Fit?!?
Pasco thieves went to a LOT of trouble to get the keys to a medical center vehicle, which they took for a five-block joyride. Who steals a Honda Fit for joyriding?
Certainly not bagging on the Fit, it's a terrific car, great gas mileage, and a lot of businesses whose employees drive all over town use them for that reason. They're pretty reliable. But for joyriding purposes, not exactly the kind of car you're looking to boost.
The story began, say Pasco police, when officers responded to a report of a break-in at the Interpath Labs in Pasco on Court Street near Road 44, sometime between 9 and 10pm. The suspects also apparently broke into the offices of Bradshaw Dentistry in the same complex. Workers who arrived early this morning found the break in and called police who arrived around 7am. Officials didn't say if either business was equipped with an alarm system.
The thieves stole the keys to the company's Honda Fit, which was clearly marked with their logo on both doors. The vehicle was driven about five blocks, then found abandoned near Henry and Road 44. Officials spent hours combing both businesses, searching for prints and DNA.
Anyone with any information is asked to confidentially report it to Pasco police at (509) 3421.
