Policeman Not at Fault in Kennewick Patrol Car Crash
The accident that caused serious damage to both an SUV and a Kennewick Police Department patrol unit was due to a driver running a red light.
Around 12:45pm Wednesday, a Kennewick patrol unit was slammed into at the intersection of 27th and Olympia by an SUV that had run a red light. Traffic camera video shows the light was red for the direction of travel for the SUV for approximately 25 seconds before the vehicle hit the patrol car.
Fortunately, none of the people involved suffered serious injuries, including the officer. The names of the people in the SUV were not released, but the driver was cited for failing to stop for a red light.
