Primary 2020–Klippert, Boehnke Retain Control of 8th District
8th District State House Reps Matt Boehnke and Brad Klippert (both GOP) won the August 4 Primary by wide margins over their Democratic and other challengers.
Both represent the 8th Legislative District (Kennewick, Richland, West Richland and up towards and through Hanford).
Boehnke defeated Larry Stanley of the Alliance Party by over a 12,000 vote margin. The Democratic party did not field a challenger in the 8th. Position 2.
Klippert in Position 1 defeated Democrat Shir Regev by a margin of 13,335, to just over 7,000.
It is presumed these will square off again in November. Washington uses a top two primary, meaning whomever the top two are they face off, regardless of party afffiliation.
