Tuesday evening, the Prosser City Council will decide if they will keep the folks at Altitude the happiest in the basin, for at least a little while.

On the heels of seeing the ONLY state pot store in the region open recently,  Prosser is now mulling future pot activities on the shelf until new regulations are in place.  Altitude is the only pot store now open in the Columbia Basin.

The council has heard suggestions from the City Planning Commission about creating a new set of ordinances and zoning laws that would keep pot stores away from schools, parks and residential areas.   It would keep growing areas out of industrial zones, and require medical marijuana shops have a state license.

The council can decide to follow the planning commission or disregard and allow further immediate pot store and industry development.   The Planning Commission has set forth ideas that the council could vote on next month.

In the meantime, the Council will decide on the moratorium tonight, starting at 7pm in the Prosser City Council Chambers in City Hall.
