After a lengthy search failed to fill the position, the City of Richland has re-opened it's search for a new Chief of Police.

Former Chief Cris Skinner left to take the chief position in Eugene, OR, and several candidates were rejected by city officials.

Last September, candidates Dominic Rizzi Jr. a former Chicago officer and since 2012 Chief in Yakima before being let go, and former West Richland and current Sunnyside Chief Albert 'Al' Escalera were not approved.

The search was tabled, then this week the City announced they are accepting applications from candidates and the search will resume. Until a replacement is found, Chief Jeff Taylor will continue in his interim role. To find out more and to apply, click here.
