Richland SWAT Standoff Nets 5 in Drugs, Guns, Crime Bust
We now know that citizen complaints about possible illegal and criminal activity led to this eventual bust.
Five persons arrested on multiple charges
Richland Police reported Friday it was citizen tips and complaints about potentially illegal and unusual activity at this home led to surveillance, and then a raid.
Tuesday afternoon, RPD, along with help from Kennewick, Pasco PD and the Benton County Sheriff's office, raided this home at 306 Adams Street in Richland.
According to RPD, after getting numerous complaints, they placed the home under watch and developed enough evidence to go in. The Richland Police Street Crimes Unit surrounded the home along with the other officers, and initially the people inside refused to exit.
After about an hour standoff with officers and the Tri-City Regional SWAT Team, the 5 people surrendered. Inside the home, RPD found:
"..located more than a pound of methamphetamine, bags of powder fentanyl, and more that 1600 pressed fentanyl pills. Three firearms were also located at the residence, with one being confirmed stolen. Over $1,300 in cash was located near the drugs."
RPD identified the five people inside who were taken into custody:
"Those arrested on warrants included: Chelsea Buff (Brown), Joseph Brown, Sierra Uribe, Thomascine McEachern and Christopher Brotherton. Brotherton was also booked into the Benton County Jail for multiple weapons and drug charges."
No word if any of the suspects was the legal homeowner, the investigation continues.
