Semi Driver Falls Asleep Behind Wheel Near Walla Walla
Fortunately, no other motorists were injured, but the driver suffered some himself.
Washington State Patrol troopers say 19-year-old Juan Arteaga-Balderrama of Walla Walla was driving a semi towing a flat-bed trailer, when he apparently fell asleep behind the wheel about five miles West of town.
The truck went off the road around 7:50am, and rolled in the ditch. The driver was wearing his seat belt and was taken to St. Marie's Hospital.
Troopers said he was charged with 2nd. Degree Negligent Driving.
