Speed, Weather(?) Factors in Fatal Kennewick Crash, Two Others Hurt
Kennewick Police say excessive speed is likely a factor (and perhaps weather?) in a fatal crash Monday night.
SPEEDING DRIVER HITS ANOTHER HEAD-ON
Shortly after 7:15PM Kennewick Police responded to an area near 31st. Ave. and South Ely Streets, and found a head-on crash.
Officials say 25-year-old Angel Mendoza was southbound on South Ely when he lost control of his 2021 Mercedes. He crossed over the centerline, slamming head-on into a 2010 Jeep Wrangler.
Both Jeep occupants were seriously hurt but after being taken to an area hospital, they're expected to make full recoveries.
However Mendoza died at the scene from his injuries. The investigation continues.
