State Health Department Joins Chipotle’ E-Coli Investigation-Food Tested
The Washington State Department of Health has joined into the e-coli issue that stems from people who ate at Chipotle' restaurants between October 14th and 23rd in the Pacific Northwest. Samples of food taken from various restaurants in the affected areas are now being tested.
The Health Department says the samples are being thoroughly tested at the Public Health Laboratories in Bothell, WA. The 19 cases are largely confined to four Western Washington and two Western Oregon counties. 9 of the people sickened, 7 in Washington and two from Oregon, are in the hospital, but are reported in good condition and are being treated. There have been no fatalities from the outbreak.
The Health Department plans to release more information as it becomes available. Still no potential source of the e-coli contamination has been revealed.
