Stolen Truck Thief Tries Gas Instead of Diesel-Goes to Station Twice
Pasco Police are searching to ID this suspect, wanted for allegedly stealing a very nice diesel truck out of Richland a few days ago.
Authorities say on Dec.23, the Ram mega-cab newer truck was taken from Richland around 7AM, had been left unattended with engine running to warm up. The victim quickly filed a report with Richland officers.
Around 8AM the truck was spotted at 10th and Lewis at the Chevron station, where the suspect put in a few dollars, but he pumped gas instead of diesel. The truck was spotted there by a friend of the victim, the store clerk, who notified police. The man drove away, but came back around 10:30AM. He asked for a few dollars of diesel, but the clerk confronted him about the theft. The clerk then called police.
The suspect then threw the keys on the counter and said somebody else stole the truck, it wasn't him, and he ran out of the store. A search by police of the area didn't turn up any trace of the suspect. He's described as a Hispanic male, about 5'6" he has braces on his teeth, and wrist and other tattoos on backs of hands and full tattoo sleeves up arms.
