Summer School On Ice? Tri-City Americans Hockey School Coming
When you think of summer school, most of us are like "ugh!" But not in this case.
The Tri-City Americans are presenting their Hockey Summer School, beginning August 9th. Coaching legend Don Nachbaur will be the "Principal," his assistants will be former standouts and fan favorites Goalie Evan Sarthou and former Captain Beau McCue. As we get closer, additional information will be released about other current and former players who will be assisting as well.
Who Else is Expected to Appear and Help with Camp?
Americans owners and NHL legendary players Olaf Kolzig and Stu Barnes will also be assisting with some of the activities.
The camp is being offered in three windows, a player can choose 1, 2 or all 3 weeks. The camp begins on August 9 and will run through August 27.
Players ages 6-15 are invited to sharpen their skills and learn from some of the best. The camp's mission statement reads in part:
"The Tri-City Americans Summer Hockey School is open to students of all abilities, ranging from ages 6 to 15. The primary focus of the camp will be on skating, fundamentals and skill development with a goal of maximizing individual potential while instilling proper techniques."
Sessions will be held five days a week, taking place from the afternoon into the early evening. There's a LOT of youth hockey players in our region, and here's a chance to learn even more with the Americans camp.
