Sunnyside police arrested a 35-year-old unnamed suspect this week after he had a dangerous altercation with his girlfriend. But that's not the shocking part.

Police received a call Sunday afternoon about the potentially violent confrontation, and when they arrived, the man grabbed his 11-year-old daughter, and used her as a shield against police as he fled into the home's backyard. He tried to use her as a shield to prevent police from approaching him!

He then released the girl and fled on foot, then was arrested when he returned. He is in the Yakima County jail on $50,000 bond. He is also facing charges after he kicked out the rear window of a patrol car as he was being taken to jail.
