The owner of a downtown Kennewick night club is being sued, along with the former general manager and several employees -- but it has nothing to do with the Ben Ensign incident.
It took a Benton County Superior Court jury about 45 minutes on Thursday to deliberate and return a guilty verdict against Matthew Hibbard, the general manager and head of security at Jack Didley's in Kennewick. He has been convicted of third-degree assault with aggravating circumstance. Close to midnight on July 4, 2012, a drunk and belligerent patron, Ben Ensign, was dropped on his head outside
On Tuesday, witnesses took to the stand during one of the most talked about criminal cases in the Tri-Cities this past year. Jack Didley's night club general manager and head of security, Mathew Hibbard, is being charged with third-degree assault with aggravating circumstances after, as one witness said, he "forcefully dropped" Ben Ensign onto his head outside of the night club.
