WHAT HAPPENED TO LEAD TO FATALITY?

WSP Troopers didn't say if he was towing a trailer or had the load in his vehicle.
Apparently, he was struck by a car driven by 79-year-old Darrell Slippy of Pasco. However, Slipped did not stop at the scene and continued on into town.
WSP Troopers were able to track him and locate him later, but he told Officers he had no idea he had hit Trujillio. The 46-year-old victim was pronounced dead at the scene by EMS workers.
WSP officials say Slipped could still face some infractions stemming from the incident, but not likely he will face criminal charges. The incident continues to be investigated.
Authorities did say it's a stark reminder that if there is a vehicle pulled over on the shoulder of the highway and you are safely able to do so, move over to the left passing lane until clear of the stopped vehicle.
