Another defenseman is coming to Tri-Cities, while two players are headed to Calgary.

The Americans announced last weekend, 19-year-old Jake Bean will be joining the team in time to play against Portland on Friday, Jan. 12.

Bean, coming from the Calgary Hitmen, was the 13th overall pick in the 2016 NHL draft by the Carolina Hurricanes, and the 19-year-old is considered an elite defenseman.

In exchange, the Americans sent 17-year-old forward Carson Focht, 18-year-old defenseman Dakota Krebs to Calgary in addition to giving up a first round WHL pick in the 2019 draft, and second round picks in the 2018 and 2020 WHL drafts.
