Americans name two new associates
Former NHL standout Jody Hull and a former NHL and AJHL associate will join the staff.
Jody Hull is a 16-year NHL vet who played for the Hartford Whalers, New York Rangers, Ottawa Senators, Florida Panthers, Tampa Bay Lightning, and Philadelphia Flyers. He scored 124 goals and added 137 assists, and was a Stanley Cup finalist with Barnes on the 1996 Panthers. Since then he's spent 16 years coaching in the Ontario Hockey League with the Peterboro Petes and Niagara Ice Dogs. He also spent considerable time working behind the bench helping Team Canada in a variety of international competitions.
T.J. Millar, who also joins as an associate, spent the last season working for the Toronto Maple Leafs as a coaching development associate. According to the Americans:
"Previously, he worked as an assistant coach in the AJHL for the Bonnyville Pontiacs from 2018-2021 and in the SJHL for the Nipawin Hawks from 2016-2018. He helped the Hawks claim the SJHL championship in 2018."
Millar, a native of Calgary, Alta., spent the 2015-16 season with the Americans on a work placement through his university program.
Both coaches will be joining the staff very soon, the announcement came Monday, August 22nd.
