Last Friday, the Tri-City Americans didn't make fans wait long for their chance to make it rain when it comes to the Teddy Bear Toss.

The Americans again joined with Fred Meyer for one of the most fun nights of the season, the annual Teddy Bear Toss game.    Pretty simple, bring as many stuffed animals to the game with you, then when the Americans score their first goal, fire away!  The bears and animals get tossed onto the ice, where they are gathered and distributed to over a dozen local charities around the Mid-Columbia.

The Americans were one of the first teams to begin this practice in the Western Hockey League,  and last Friday YOU the fans didn't disappoint.   Over 3,007 stuffed animals, give or a take a couple who tried to "escape" down the hallway near the Zamboni entrance, were collected.    To cap it off, the toss happened early in the game, and was highlighted by a solid Americans 4-0 victory over Seattle.

Over the years,  win or lose, the Americans have never failed to pay off on their promise to fans to give them a chance to throw.   90% of the first goals have occurred in the 1st. period.  Even the Ams players take it very seriously, as you could see them flying around the ice, trying to knock in that puck - leaving Seattle in the dust.
