Over the years, the Tri-City Americans have led the Western Hockey League when it comes to specially designed theme jerseys worn on certain nights.

They've included the Pink Ice breast cancer awareness nights, Military Night, Nuclear Night and more.

Now the Americans will feature another innovative design for this year's New Years Eve game vs. Spokane. Since their inception the Americans have always played Spokane on New Year's Eve at Toyota Center.

This year's jerseys, like those from other specialty nights, will be auctioned off with the proceeds benefiting the American's players education fund. This fund allows them to pursue post secondary education beyond high school, as many of the players are 19, and three on each WHL team are 20. This year's edition was again designed by Drew Nance, who's created the last few Americans theme jerseys.
