More information is being released as the investigation continues into the shocking kidnapping and subsequent death of a 69-year-old Kennewick woman over the weekend. Victim Sandra Harris is pictured at left.

Sergeant Ken Lattin said Monday mid-morning that the suspect, 49-year-old Theresa L. Wiltse, of Connell, "was known" to the victim, Sandra Harris and her husband Randy Harris.

The incident  began on Friday, when Randy Harris reported his wife had been taken without her consent from their residency  shortly before noon, in the 200 block of East 41st. Street.

Contact was established with the suspect who demanded an a sum of money for her safe release. The amount was not disclosed. Police along with the FBI, set up a money drop in a remote location of Franklin County. Shortly after the drop, authorities were able to arrest Wiltse, who was driving a rental car with California plates. She was nabbed not far from Eltopia. Police and the FBI said after the arrest, they were still looking for Harris.

Then, sadly, on Sunday, a passing motorist found a body on Coffin Road, two miles East of I-82 south of Kennewick around noon. The Benton County coroner was able to identify it as Harris.

Also, Monday morning, authorities said an autopsy is planned to determine her cause of death. Officials continue to investigate to find out why this incident occurred, and as of Monday, are not actively looking for any other suspects. However, that does NOT mean others may have been involved.

Authorities have not said if Wiltse is cooperating with authorities or not.
