For the first time since pot was legalized in 2012 and went on sale in the following year, sales have topped $200 million.

The Washington State Liquor Control Board, who oversees the marijuana industry, says pot sales topped the $200 million mark in one quarter. People still spent more money on alcohol, but the gap between the two closed from $54 million to $37 million, according to KNDU-TV.

The record sales occurred during the first quarter, or three months, of 2016. During the election earlier in November, California, Massachusetts and Nevada also approved legalizing recreational pot.
