Tuesday night, Walla Walla officers on patrol near Alder street saw this unusual sight.

A man was there with his head and upper torso stuck inside a Goodwill donation bin. Officers were able to extricate him, and after giving him a 'kind' warning about the dangers of such behavior, and sent him on his way.

No other details were released, but it's likely he was either looking for some clothing to keep warm, or perhaps trying to crawl inside. Authorities say that's become a growing issue with homeless people. They often try to crawl inside the bins for warmth and sometimes get stuck. A similar incident happened last year in Pasco.

It is also possible he realized he'd 'donated' something he didn't actually want to--changed his mind.  We will never know, officers didn't say.
